🛠️ About the Role
Job Title: Civil Engineer Intern
Job Type: Full-time Internship
Location: Lusaka
Duration: Internship – 6 Months (with potential for full-time employment upon successful completion)
Stipend: Yes – covers transport, lunch, and basic expenses
This internship is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. The selected candidate will gain practical experience in project estimation, tendering, contract administration, procurement, and on-site coordination — working alongside experienced engineers and quantity surveyors.
Outstanding performers may be considered for full-time employment at the end of the internship.
💼 Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Assist in preparing project cost estimates and budgets.
- Contribute to feasibility studies and cost analysis.
- Support the monitoring of project budgets to ensure cost control.
Tendering and Procurement:
- Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities, and contract forms.
- Assist in evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Participate in procurement activities in line with company procedures.
Contract and Site Administration
- Support the administration of construction contracts.
- Assist in processing contractor claims and variations.
- Support preparation of site reports and project data collection.
Technical and Project Support
- Work closely with project managers and site teams to achieve targets.
- Help prepare progress and close-out documentation.
- Maintain organized records of project activities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Basic understanding of construction workflows and contract management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, CostX, or similar tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and a team player.
